Oct. 20--Saks Fifth Avenue wants your coats.

The Utica Square department store will partner with Family & Children's Services through the organization One Warm Coat to distribute winter coats to those in need.

Starting Friday through Nov. 1, customers are invited to bring in gently worn women's or men's coats, as well as men's suits, to Saks. In exchange, the store will offer 25 percent off their purchases of a new women's or men's coat, or men's suit.

Coats donated to Saks will be given to Family & Children's Services, the local affiliate of One Warm Coat. Started in 1992 as a Thanksgiving weekend coat drive in San Francisco, One Warm Coat has distributed more than 1 million coats to thousands of communities.

Pink -- it's in the bag

True to You Bra Salon at South London shopping center, near 61st Street and Lewis Avenue, is bringing attention to October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month now through Oct. 31 by offering customers discounts with a special bag.

If you buy the cute pink-and-black bag owner Laurie Hearon is selling for $5, you will receive 10 percent off everything you can fit into the bag, she said -- and proceeds from the bag will go to Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Vietri pottery signing

Margo's Gift Shop at Utica Square will host a Vietri holiday signing event noon to 4 p.m. Friday.

Vietri is an Italian pottery line featuring beautifully crafted pieces, including a Santa pattern, said the shop's owner, Margo Nelson. These holiday items are what one of Vietri's owners will be signing that day.

Margo's will also offer a 10 percent discount during this time on all Vietri products.

'Pretty in Pink'

Belk at Smith Farm Marketplace, 9002 N. 121st East Ave., in Owasso, will host the "Pretty in Pink" beauty event 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

A fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, the event invites women to have a full makeup consultation at either Lancome, Clinique or Estee Lauder, said Linda DiCiolla, the Lancome counter manager at Belk.

The aforementioned cosmetics lines will provide professional makeup artists for the event, she said. After leaving the counter of your choice, you can enjoy pampering stations set up for hair, nails and massage.

Music will be provided, and a photographer will be there snapping shots of all the fun. Light refreshments will be provided, and door prizes will be given away.

Tickets are $15 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the Owasso chapter of the American Cancer Society. Spots are filling up quickly, DiCiolla said, so make your reservation soon -- either as an individual or group of friends.

Kameleon trunk show

Sweet Tooth Candy & Gift Co. , 3747 S. Harvard Ave., will host a trunk show of Kameleon jewelry 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

The first jewelry system to offer interchangeability across its entire spectrum of design, Kameleon offers 40 base jewelry designs including rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces and pins.

An art fair

Mrs. DeHaven's Flower Shopat 15th Street and Boston Avenue will present its "Harvest Art Faire: Potters, Paints and Posies" 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

More than two dozen artists will show their creations at the event, said Amy Adkins, the new owner of Mrs. DeHaven's, as well as the Gadget Co. The event will showcase paintings, pottery, engravings, jewelry, photography, embroidery, stained glass, collages, wood-turnings and a floral vendor bringing 24 different varieties of roses, Adkins said. Plus, Tulsa Stained Glass will be there to help attendees make their own art projects.

"All of the artists are so pumped about this show and have really taken ownership of the event," Adkins said. "Some artists have even canceled out-of-town shows to participate in ours."
